Introducing Our New Series: Challenges We Face in Transition

If you’ve ever found yourself in a season of transition, which most of us have, you probably know this reality:

Transitions are hard in ways we don’t always expect.

They’re emotional. They’re logistical. They stretch our relationships, challenge our identity, reshape our routines, and ask us to make decisions we never planned to make. Even the good transitions that we or worked toward bring disruption.

At Spero, as we walk alongside businesses and families facing transition, we see a commonality.

People feel alone in their transition.

They often say things like:

  • “I feel overwhelmed, and I don’t know where to start.”

  • “I should be able to figure this out.”

  • “I didn’t realize I’d be this emotional.”

This series, “Challenges We Face in Transition,” was written to open discussion about some of the most common challenges people experience during transitions:

  • The emotional weight of uncertainty

  • Identity disruption

  • Overwhelm from logistics, systems, and responsibilities

  • Emotional and relational tension

  • Maintaining momentum and navigating decision fatigue

Each post will identify some of the challenges you may be experiencing, share practical tools, and provide a little encouragement. Transitions require courage, patience, and compassion (especially for ourselves). Transitions are rarely simple, but they are full of possibility and growth.

If you’re in the middle of a transition right now, consider this your reminder:

You don’t have to walk through it alone.
